Tables in New Google Sites

Google Sites does not have a dedicated menu (like Classic Sites) to insert and manipulate tables. There are workarounds including embedding copied HTML code or inserting a Google Sheet from drive. In each instance the table is inserted as an object into a Google Sites tile. Each workaround has its own strengths and weaknesses. Let's see how each works.

HTML table - embed copied code

You can create HTML code from tables in a number of ways. For simplicity and working directly within a web browser TablesGenerator is a recommended choice.

Embed HTML

Go to TablesGenator.com and create your table based on the HTML Tables tab. You can set a theme based on colors, borders, and stripes. Once your table is defined you can enter data into the cells and then click Generate to create or update the HTML code.
